Conviction Is Not Condemnation- (Understanding Redemption)

The conviction of the Holy Spirit leads to repentance unto salvation. On the whole, the judgments of God are corrective, no matter the expressions or manifestation of God’s judgment . For God is LOVE. God was not love or would be, HE IS LOVE and will ever be, world without end. That’s His very nature, unchanging nature. Ultimately, God’s programme upon the earth even before the fall is a redemptive programme. The Lamb was crucified before the foundations  of the world but the Lamb was manifested or revealed at this time of the end. No man has any scorecard worthy of commendation before God. We are accepted in the beloved.

In CHRIST, we have redemption, righteousness and not of ourselves. We became who He is because we are one with Him. God has made Him to be unto us, WISDOM and RIGHTEOUSNESS. Let not your heart condemn you. If it does, we have ONE who is greater, the LORD JESUS CHRIST. He is greater than the musings, guilt and condemnation of your heart. He now stands to mediate, to intercede forever. He ever lives on to intercede for us. Yes! He saves to the uttermost those who believe and keep on believing and coming to Him. There’s no shadow of turning with. Please, do not draw back. Anyone who draws back does so at his or her own peril. Dont draw back unto pedition. Let not your heart condemn you.

I write this unto you that you may not sin. BUT IF ANYONE SIN, we have an ADVOCATE – Greek > paraklētos

Phonetic: par-ak’-lay-tos

Read also > Do We Have An Advocate “With” The Father?

Meaning: Someone called to one’s side, especially called to one’s aid one who pleads another’s cause before a judge, a pleader, counsel for defense, legal assistant, an advocate one who pleads another’s cause with one, an intercessor (of Christ in his exaltation at God’s right hand, pleading with God the Father for the pardon of our sins in the widest sense), a helper, succourer, aider, assistant of the Holy Spirit destined to take the place of Christ with the apostles (after his ascension to the Father), to lead them to a deeper knowledge of the gospel truth, and give them divine strength needed to enable them to undergo trials and persecutions on behalf of the divine kingdom.

And He, Jesus Christ is the PROPITIATION for our sins and not for ours alone but for the sins of the whole world. Pause and think about that. The word propitiation is the Greek word “hilasmos”

Phonetic: hil-as-mos’

Meaning: an appeasing, the means of appeasing.

Strong’s Definition: atonement, that is, (concretely) an expiator: – propitiation.

Not so many persons understand the meaning of the word, “Atonement.” It is a very deep word in sense and act. In the old economy, the Old Testament, two words were used namely:  Kaw-far’ (Hebrew or Aramic)> Transliteration: kâphar

It means to cover, purge, make atonement, make reconciliation, cover over with pitch, to coat or cover with pitch, to cover over, pacify, propitiate, to cover over, atone for sin, make atonement for, atone for sin and persons by legal rites. Part(s) of speech: Verb

Strong’s Definition: A primitive root; to cover(specifically with bitumen); figuratively to expiate or condone, to placate or cancel: – appease, make (an) atonement, cleanse, disannul, forgive, be merciful, pacify, pardon, to pitch, purge (away), put off, (make) reconcile (-liation).

Oh my! Did you see that? Jesus has been made all that for us. Should we sin, He has been made to be our ATONEMENT. Jesus Christ is your KAW-FAR’. It’s the same word translated as MERCY SEAT.  Jesus is our mercy seat. Therefore, henceforth, there’s now NO MORE CONDEMNATION to them that are IN-CHRIST,  IN-HIM, who walk not after their carnal and sensual impulses but according to the detects of the Holy Spirit. For as many as are led by the Spirit, are the SONS OF GOD. ( Rom 8:1 & Vs  14)

The second word translated to mean Atonement in Hebrew is the word, “kippûr”

Phonetic: kip-poor’. It traces it’s origin to KAW-FAR’ and carries the same sense.

The New Testament translates the word “Atonement” from the Greek >Transliteration: katallagē

Phonetic: kat-al-lag-ay’

It means an exchange of the business of money changers, exchanging equivalent values, adjustment of a difference, reconciliation, (restoration to favour- of the restoration of the favour of God to sinners that repent and put their trust in the expiatory death of Christ)

The exchange of an equivalent value. Atonement! Word a word! What an act! That’s who He is and has done for us. God EXCHANGED Jesus Christ in my place and your place when judgement required penalty. For the wages of sin is death. But the gift of God (Jesus Christ) is life. “If thou knowest the GIFT OF GOD…” This gift is a person, even the Lord Jesus Christ. In Him is salvation, redemption, atonement, remission, forgiveness of sin, cancellations of sins, purging, cleansing, appeasing, covering over one’s offences by legality, exchanging and acquitting the culprit by providing a ransome. This and many more is wrapped up in that word, “Atonement”.

Beloved, don’t you ever fall for Satan’s deceptive lies and your heart’s condemnation. I write this to you that you sin not, but should any of you sin, remember that we have an advocate with the father, who God has made to be the atonement for our sins and that of the world. We offend in many things and if anyone says he has no sins, He is a liar and the truth is not in him. If we are in the truth, we will and shall keep His commandments. Within the context, the commandment is to always draw succour from the atonement made by the advocate, our advocate, Jesus Christ.  God bless you!
