Hindrances To Obtaining The Kingdom Of God

This is what the Bible says to you and i“But  the  fearful,  and  unbelieving,  and  the  abominable,  and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and  idolaters,  and  all  liars,  shall  have  their  part  in  the lake  which  burneth  with  fire  and  brimstone:  which  is  the second death.” Rev 21:8.

The scripture reveals characters that could deprive us the kingdom of God which is also called the new Jerusalem.  We do good to take heed to the warning if we truly desire this kingdom. The first is *FEAR*  We often down play the seriousness of fear in hindering us from possessing the kingdom. Many are plagued with various kinds of fear ranging from fear of persons,  fear of the future to even fear of dead.  Fear, the scripture says comes with torment.  It is often the catalyst to a lot of evil.  Some even  instill fear in others for fear  of loosing their false personality and assume importance. In whichever, the sons of God must never allow this negative emotions to dominate their soul.  Fear is  rarely  thought  of  as  a  sin,  but  it  is  definitely  a  negative emotion  that  energizes  all  the  other  lower  emotions.  One  can  never  live in  a  new  earth  with  “no  more  sea”  if  he  lives  with  fear,  which  energizes the sea of lower emotions. No wonder the word “FEAR NOT is written 365 times in the Bible which is sufficient for us to live 24/7 above fear and all his cohorts.

            The UNBELIEVING

This nature is one of the most offensive to God. Not believing God and being full of doubts. We heed to have a strong believe in God and His word.  To  obtain  the  New  Jerusalem,  we  have  to  have  a  believing  spirit. This  is  much  different  from  a  gullible  spirit.  The  gullible  spirit  has  no filters,  discrimination  or  judgment.  The  believing  spirit  does  not  ignore the  real,  but  discerns  the  possibility  that  there  is  nothing  too  good  to be  true  and  all  things  are  possible.  He  is  not  blind  to  the  obstacles  that may  appear  upon  the  path  or  be  in  his  way  as  is  the  gullible  one.  The believing  spirit  sees  these  things,  but  believe  they  can   overcome and it works.

May we not be entangled in any of these hindrances  as we see a procession of evil fear goes to conquer the mind first and then the door is open for unbelief, doubt and others creating a strong hold on the mind that if not addressed timely a man’s faith can be shipwrecked while he thinks he is still on board.

May the Lord help us!
