Beloved, this is an important question that we need to provide an answer to as much as you are a living soul. I believe for the scripture to put forth such a question shows that things will not remain the way they are forever, it shows that the curtain will be drawn soon and we will all appear before the judgment seat of Christ to give account of our lives how we spent it on earth. So Jesus Christ is asking you and i how are we going to escape if we continue in playing church.
Hebrews2:1-3 “Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward;
How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him”
God is telling us to pay great attention to the truth we have heard from His word, so that we wouldn’t drift away into false teachings and practices. To give more earnest heed speaks of hard work. It involves focusing our mind, body and spirit listening to Christ which means not merely hearing, but also obeying which involves doing (James 1:22-25). We must listen carefully and be ready to carry out His instruction. Beloved, no one will be able to escape God’s judgement if we are indifferent to the Salvation offered by Christ.
How then can you escape? It is by revelation knowledge; God must reveal the Christ to you. The Christ is God’s ideal man, when you have a vision of the Christ, all the baggage will drop and liberty comes around. That is when you can feel good. You begin to do what you want to do, wearing what you want to wear, eating what you want to eat, without feeling like you must be like this or that. The enemy manipulates people who have not yet identified themselves in CHRIST JESUS. The things that mattered so much to us in our youth, does not matter so much as the years go by. The truth is that the earlier you begin to appreciate things that are eternal (the things that physical eyes cannot see) the better for you. If you are young and privileged to be in an environment that you can hear the truth and respond to the truth early enough. A fundamental counsel for those who are desiring to get married is this: make sure you find God’s will, because if you have God’s will, there are no surprises. For those in the world, they go by trial and error looking for compatibility only, they find a partner, try the relationship for a while, find one or two surprises, they break off, find another partner, break off and it goes on and on. For the Godly youth, God has made a simple way for you-Hear Him and He will take charge of your affairs. And whatever happens you know that God has prepared you for it. There are no surprises, all we need to do is to pray and ask God, “Lord I need a wife, and God will give you that good thing that comes only from him.
“House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD” ( (Prov 19:14 ).
This goes for every other decision in life looking for a job, decisions to take and so on. Your watch word should be “God what are you saying”?
This is the life that God is calling us to live. The enemy wants us to take a different path. But, we will walk in the way of the Lord. You may be mocked, ridiculed and laughed at but remember
“when the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dreamed” (Psalm 126:1).
You may have an issue bothering you today, one day you will recall those issues and you will not find them, you will look for those Egyptians and you will see them no more (Ex 14:13). Those deliverances that you have cried out for will surely come. You shall end up being delivered. Friends, God has called us into a way that is sure and certain. Oh LORD our God make a way of escape for your very own. Shalom!
