The state of the church today can be likened to what happened in the days of Eli. There was a total desecration of the altar by the sons of Eli. His sons went into alliance, unholy union with women right at the door of the tabernacle of the Ministry of the present church system or church order who has not been able to keep their sons in check. The bible declares in the days of Eli that the true word of God became scarce; and there was no open vision in the land………Eli’s eyes began to wax dim, that he could not see; and the lamp of God in the temple ( in the church) went out (I sam 3:1-3). This is a very sad situation but it captures the true situation of our present day church in our nations. The Ark of God representing God’s presence was lost to the philistines. The glory departed from Israel because the Ark of God was taken meaning Ichabod .
”And she called the boy Ichabod, saying, “The glory has departed from Israel, because the ark of God was taken and because of her father-in-law and her husband. (I sam 4:21-22).”
Today Ichabod” is boldly written on the church systems and all its denominations for those with spiritual eyes can see it clearly. The glory in deed is lost because the church has gone into alliance with Egypt: for the Ark of God is taken.
The Scripture declare that the time will come when believers will not endure sound doctrines; but after their own lust shall heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears… (2 Timothy 4:3-4).
That time is now where there is scarcity of the word and the light in the church is almost going out. Many people in the church today are having a form of godliness, a form of religion, but deny the power thereof. Many today emphasize their denominations, their church tenets and doctrines and they miss the whole essence of the Christ life. The church has allowed itself to be deceived. There is deceit in the church. We mistake phraseology for experience, the maiming of the enemy for his death, sanctimoniousness for sanctification, zeal for unction, activity for service, the knowledge of the truth for the spirit of the truth. The church today is full of shallow and superficial Christians. We possess today a marvelous capacity for self deception. Nothing is easier than self-deception.
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it.” I the LORD search the heart; I try the reins even to give every man according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings” (Jeremiah 17:9-10).
Oh Heavenly Father restore once again the glory of this later house and let all flesh see and pertake of it. Shalom!
